Magazines for You

The De Soto Public Library has a large selection of magazines available for checkout to patrons!
Just in: Food Network Magazine for October. What I love about this particular magazine is the index of all the recipes featured in each issue, with photos, indicating what page to locate the recipe. If the item on the front cover interests you, no more searching the whole magazine to find the recipe.
On the front cover this month: Easy Tomato Soup & Grilled Cheese Croutons. Who doesn’t love grilled cheese with tomato soup? In my opinion, it’s the only way to eat tomato soup. I can’t wait to try this recipe!
Though it seems unlikely that Halloween really is right around the corner, it is true. This month’s magazine also features some very creative pumpkin carving ideas. It puts me to shame; I usually resort to sticking those “Mr. Potato Head” type eyes and ears in my pumpkins…
In addition to Food Network Magazine, we have the following:
News: Time Magazine and Newsweek (both weekly)
Recipes: Taste of Home (bi-monthly), Cooking with Paula Deen, Cook’s Illustrated and Vegetarian Times
Regional Information: Big River and Midwest Living
Crafts & Hobbies: American Patchwork and Quilt, Love of Quilting, Shooting Times, Country Gardens and Better Homes and Gardens,
General Topics: Consumer Reports, Ladies’ Home Journal, National Geographic, Reader’s Digest (Large Print) and Mother Earth News
For Kids & Teens: Seventeen and National Geo for Kids
