Getting a Start on the ‘Tween Section

I’m not sure what to call the “pre-young adult” section so I’m open for suggestions.  Are they ‘tweens’ or ‘young teens’ or something else?  At any rate, we’ve received a few books to get our collection for the grades 5-8 section started including these titles:

Peter Nimble & His Fantastic Eyes by Jonathan Auxier
Peter and the Starcatchers series (4 books) by Dave Barry & Ridley Pearson
Science Fair by Dave Barry & Ridley Pearson
Books by Mary Downing Hahn (scary but not Stephen King scary): The Old Willis Place, The Ghost of Crutchfield Hall, The Dead Man in Indian Creek, Time for Andrew, Witch Catcher, All the Lovely Bad Ones.

New in Children’s Books:
Dr. Seuss: The Foot Book, Horton Hatches the Egg & Oh, the Thinks You Can Think! (replacing older, much loved copies)
Curious George Goes to the Hospital by H.A. Rey

New in Young Adult Books:
Inheritance by Christopher Paolini (Book 4 of the Inheritance Series)

The Summer Reading Program is winding down, but the Vernon County Fair is coming up in September. Call the library asap if your kids want to earn free entrance to the fair or 2 free ride tickets by reading in the next few weeks! Limited tickets available so sign up this week!
