De Soto is Becoming a Bird City!


De Soto Is Becoming a Bird City! Join the village to commemorate this day on Saturday, October 12th.

  • 10:00 A.M.  @ the Community Center – Carl Schwartz,  state coordinator for Bird City Wisconsin will present the village with a flag to commemorate our joining this movement.  Dan Jackson, president of Coulee Region Audubon Society will do a presentation on feeding native species.  If weather permits, there will be a group hike on the Mississippi Valley Conservancy trail (MacDowell Bluff )
  • 9:00 – 2:00 @ the Library – Learn the calls of native birds,  watch a bird documentary playing throughout the day.  Kids can paint a bird, make a pinecone bird feeder and enjoy other bird-related activities..
  •  DeSoto Fire Department Chicken-Q @ noon – ?
