Chilly Weather Crafting!

It’s that time of year again! Things cool down, we spend more time indoors, and our thoughts turn to keeping busy and keeping warm!

For my part, I spend my winter hours with a good book or a crochet project. It’s a nice feeling to have the warm yarn keeping my lap warm (when it’s not occupied by a cat!) while also creating something fun for a family member.

For the crafty patrons, here are some NEW craft books we’ve just put into our collection!

  • Paracord Crafts by Leisure Arts
  • The Chicks with Sticks Guide to Knitting
  • Crochet a Zoo by Megan Kreiner
  • Beyond the Square: Crochet Motifs by Edit Eckman
  • Decorative Fusion Knots by JD of Tying It All Together (blog)
  • Woodland Knits: A Tiny Owl Knits collection by Stephanie Dosen
  • Monster Knits for Little Monsters: 20 Super-Cute Animal-Themed Hat, Mitten and Bootie Sets to Knit
  • Beastly Crochet: 23 Critters to Wear and Love by Brenda K.B. Anderson
  • Where Do I Start With Fiber Art? A Beginner’s guide to Playing with Fabric, Design, Color and Beads! by Chris Lynn Kirsch.  This item was donated by the Northeast Iowa Quilter’s Guild in memory of Virginia Johnson, a Ferryville-area quilter and one of their members.

Stop in to see these and other great winter-crafting books we have! NOW is the time to start making up those winter gifts!

Hope to see you soon at the library!
